In 10 days I will be enlisting upon another wonderful birthday. Generally I use my birthday as a “half-time” so to speak. An opportunity to reflect on the past years, my current situation, and also readjust my focus if needed in order to accomplish any preset goals that are outstanding in my life for the rest of the year.
I’m sure this sounds like a lot, but it truly is not! I’m a thinker. That’s what I do.
Today I was thinking about how in the past I have spent so much time trying to be who everyone else thought I was instead of just being me! When I say that, I’m really mainly talking about giving in to who God has created me to be. That is without hesitation, and without care or concern of what others may perceive.
It may sound easy for some people to do, but for me I know it is hard. When you truly believe the word of God, you come to learn that He has made you to be such an amazing person! Not just me, but all of us! We were created in His image, we are His children, and we have His strength to endure ANYTHING!
So why do we allow ourselves to be mediocre? To settle? To expect less? That’s not what He purposed or planned for us! As a matter of fact it is just the opposite, but we become so lost in the ways of the world that we lose sight of the Kingdom of God!
Remember, I’m not just speaking about you, I am speaking of myself as well. But I don’t want to fall prey to that approach any longer, and I won’t. I refuse to settle. I refuse to accept less, and I will not allow anyone to tell me who I am except my father who is in heaven! I challenge you to do the same. Stand up for His image. Stand up for Christ. Allow Him to rule and reign in your life!
