Just Trust and Believe

It all seems so simple, just trust that God will do what He has already told you, and believe it is done. I wish it truly were that easy. Sometimes I wonder if it isn’t easier to just go along with what “everyone” else thinks….I’m sure by now you are wondering, “what on earth is she rambling about?” Well, lately I have found myself trusting God, but when I get ready to believe what He has told me I begin to doubt. Then I will believe in His promises, but instead of trusting that He will work things out, I put my own hand in it, and try to “help” him along. Basically I’m trying to do what God is already doing for me! In other words I’m messing things up. Psalm 37:5 (KJV) Commit thy way unto the Lord; Trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

So by applying that scripture as David did, I know that because I have committed myself to the Lord, all I have to do is put my trust in Him, and He will bring to the desires of my heart. So why do I keep trying to “fix” things? I guess it’s just human nature. Reading a little before the previous scripture at Psalm 37:4 (KJV) David has already told us, ‘Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart’. Just knowing what those two scriptures say helps me begin to really trust Him. This shows me that as long as I am attempting to walk according to His word, all I have to do is trust Him and it is done! Now on to the believing part. Mark 9:23 (KJV)Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

All we have to do is believe! You know every time I think about how hard it is for some people to believe in God, believe in His word(the bible), and to believe in the works He performs…it reminds me of the Christmas movies. You know the ones where Santa Claus won’t be delivering presents this year because no one believes in Him anymore…. How can you expect something from nothing? Our faith provides us with the tangible outcome of what we are expecting. If we expect something to go wrong, it usually does! And why? Because that is a product of our FAITH! We had faith that something would go wrong, and as a result what we believed is what we received.

So why not believe in the things God has promised us? The last scripture shows me that as long as I delight myself in the Lord, commit myself to Him, trust in His word, and believe all these things, anything can happen! I’m excited now! You know I think it is easier than I first imagined. Sometimes it’s easier for us to make things harder than to keep them easy. I know that my faith and my trust in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is more than enough to see me through any struggle and any situation. I hope that these words have been a blessing to you. I also pray that you have the opportunity to experience God as I have if not more. Remember to continue growing your relationship with Him.
