"Faith Comes By Hearing…."

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17) If you have already read my book, then you know that the bottom line is Faith. So often we profess to have “faith in God”, yet we do not believe what the bible tells us.

I find myself becoming a bit troubled, because I realize that we are very quick to point fingers, take offense, and not garner responsibility for our own actions. Maybe this doesn’t pertain to you, but as for me I do know that I often find myself doing these things.

So how do we circumvent these situations? How do we find another avenue, a different approach?

First we must study, read, and meditate on the word of God. When you have so much God in you, it has no choice, but to be what comes out of you in hard or troubling situations! I’m writing this because this morning I found myself taking offense to something and I had to pray about it.

The bible gives us several references on “offend/offense”, but the one in particular that stood out to me this morning was Psalm 119:165 (KJV). “Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.” Offend, meaning sin against. This scripture meant to me that I have great peace because I love God and his word, therefore nothing can take that peace away.

So though I am not perfect, I am a Christian. Christian means Christ-Like. Each day I strive to be more like Christ, and if you proclaim Christianity as your faith, then I pray you are doing the same. Remember that as you walk the path of your journey, it is important to be in the word of God. Some of us find all kinds of excuses, but we must surround ourselves with the word.

Join a church. Join a bible study group. Pray daily. All of these things will help you to grow stronger in your faith. The more you hear what God has to say to you, the stronger your faith will become. But you must position yourself to hear.

Well I’m off. I’m going to work on my next book! Have a blessed and wonderful day, and know that the Lord is by your side!
